Nihad is a dispatcher working in the logistics team ARYZTA in Switzerland. He was born in Bosnia and grew up in Sweden. After completing school where his education was focused on the transport profession he started work in a construction company driving machinery and equipment to different construction sites across Gothenburg, Sweden. After visiting Switzerland he saw an opportunity to move there. He started his career in ARYZTA shortly after, initially as a driver.

What is it like to work for ARYZTA in Switzerland?

Since I started, ARYZTA has always felt like a growing company with a lot of opportunities to develop, and that’s what I did. Firstly, as a person learning a new culture and language and secondly, as a hard worker who strives to develop every day.

What do you love about your job?

I love to organize, plan and have influence over my work. As the most experienced person in the office, I mentor less experienced coworkers. But the most satisfying feeling is the mutual trust and respect I have with our drivers. As a former driver I know how important it is to have smiling drivers – both for meeting customers and for safety on the road!

What are your key achievements are to date?

I’m proud of how quickly I learned German and integrated into a new company in a new country. After showing interest in learning and developing, my boss gave me an offer to help out in the office. I wasn’t satisfied by only helping out because I knew I could do more. To further my career I needed a commercial education. I completed the relevant professional qualifications in Switzerland, Höhere Wirtschaftsfachmann and Technische Kaufmann.

How have you developed your experience and grown since joining ARYZTA?

Soon after starting my role as a dispatcher, I started bringing my own ideas to the table and making important decisions. I appreciated the trust and support I received from my boss and my coworkers, which really helped me to develop. Fast forward six years, and I think I have become a better listener, a better team worker and a better leader. I always had and still have personal goals, I would say determination to reach them helped me to grow in my career.

What’s your plan for the future?

The plan and a wish is to be a big part of the company for many years to come. I am always ready for changes and for the next step in my career with Aryzta Logistics.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I used to play football and travel a lot, but now I enjoy being a Dad and watching football with my little girl. I’m hoping she falls in love with Manchester United as much as her Dad!
