Meet Chiara, IT Delivery Specialist
Chiara comes from a little town overlooking the sea in the south of Italy. She studied for a low degree in northern Italy, got a LL.M. in Intellectual Property with the United Nations and started to prepare for the Italian bar exam. Then plans took a different direction…
Why did you join ARYZTA?
In 2014, I saw that ARYZTA was sponsoring a Graduate Programme. I felt it was a great opportunity to start my career journey in such a big and international environment and I applied. I liked the idea of being in a challenging group of people aiming for their Leadership development. I travelled to Paris and to Dublin for the different phases of the selection and finally I got the job! I joined the European IT Department and attended IMI Leadership Programme for 18 months, after that I was part of the team.
What does your current role involve?
I’ve always been passionate about technology, IT and cybersecurity. I work in the European IT Team as an EU IT Service Delivery Specialist. We need to provide the best service to the Business to always allow smooth operations in all our sites: I take care of driving initiatives to meet these expectations, from leveraging the experience in our eight Service Desks and leading the adoption of new tools. You don’t have boring days!
What do you love about your job?
I work with an extraordinary group of individuals, who I can challenge and who always support me. I find very motivating that in ARYZTA you must always give your best and there are no limits for your development. I love that I was empowered with important Project and tasks from day 1, not only with all the available tools but with full trust and respect.
What are your key achievements?
As a graduate, I operated as Project Coordinator for our IT Modernisation Streams in 3 countries. I was also involved in the build of our newest state-of-the-art production site in Eisleben, Germany, where I coordinated all the IT Purchases and Budgeting.
In 2016, I was involved in the roll out of our new IT Service Management tool and became ServiceNow administrator. This new Platform is one of the Globally Shared IT Services and I am now the SME for EU. I drive design implementations, trainings, and closely collaborate with our North American team.
We continuously strive towards continuous improvement, especially on the customer experience of the IT Self-Service Portal for our end users.
How have you developed your experience in ARYZTA?
Joining such a fast environment gave me a great opportunity to learn. I acquired good management skills and thanks to our international environment, I am comfortable dealing with cultural challenges. ARYZTA invests in my professional development and I am given training and development opportunities every year. I am building my career on IT Service Management and I am ITIL Practitioner certified. I also got the importance of communication and passion whenever you want to build something. And in addition to that, I learned a new language!
I work in a very interesting and technical field, but I believe that coming from a non-technical path gave me the management skill and the emotional intelligence to create successful relationship in our business. Also, a strong resilience helped me to adapt quickly to challenging environment and always get the best out of every situation.
What are the key challenges facing IT professionals in the food industry?
At the moment, technology is growing exponentially and provides many innovation opportunities. For us in the food industry, it is critical to find the
right balance between new products, security and availability of our service to guarantee productivity. We also need to embrace value-added services for a market that is putting the customer in the center of the experience. Our responsibility is to ensure we continue to enable solutions to succeed in this.
What’s Next?
Learning is really important for me. I would like to continue my development in the IT Service Management world and become an expert in my field. I would also like to keep bring value to ARYZTA, maybe taking over a Leadership Role for the next generation of Graduates to support them in their career.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I like to travel and I have a big passion for motorbikes, but most of the weekends you will find me trying to replicate my grandmother Italian recipes, like a good batch of freshly made Tagliatelle.
